Moris Ikonik

Drumroll, please: In Other Words is no longer just an editorial collective. It is now, also, a publishing house!

Building on our expertise in content creation and editorial project management, we launched In Other Words Éditions in 2024 to publish creative books that fully showcase Mauritian culture and local talent. This new role also allows us to support businesses looking to bring editorial projects to life.

Published in March 2025, our first book Moris Ikonik is a beautifully crafted coffee table book that celebrates Mauritius through 50 emblems capturing the essence of the island. Whether cultural or historical symbols, iconic figures, places, dishes, or drinks, the book highlights—in a modern and artistic way—many of the elements that make Mauritius so charming, both to its people and to visitors and island lovers alike.

Published in both French and English (with the English translation by Jyoti Punjabi), the book is the result of a collaborative effort bringing together numerous artists, including some fifteen photographers.

From concept to printing – which was done at Précigraph – Moris Ikonik is a local project, imagined and created in Mauritius!

Aparté #3

Aparté is back with an edition exploring the Mauritian collective identity and the elements that shape it. From the history of the sari, to Creole poetry, and even a piece of speculative fiction where animal rights reign supreme in Mauritius… the topics in this third edition make it a vibrant one indeed.

Once again, we had the pleasure of showcasing and collaborating with a host of local talents, including Karen Pang (photography) and Thomas Jean-Louis (copywriting), along with our dedicated team of writers and translators. Together, they have helped to shape Aparté into the wonderful magazine it is today.

Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels

For several years now, we’ve been working with the Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels group to create content for its various comms channels including brochures, press releases, social media, landing pages and more…

Our latest collaboration includes a series of press kits highlighting the changes and slices of life in its hotels. From the rejuvenation of the Royal Palm to the new restaurants at Le Paradis, and an exploration of the group’s gardens and nurseries, these press kits highlight the assets and experiences that make Beachcomber so beautiful.

Thank you to the Beachcomber team for your continued trust!

ORCOM

A wonderful collaboration with Parisian firm Pixelis opened the door to us working with the auditing and advisory firm Orcom.

Orcom called on Pixelis’s branding expertise to reimagine their brand book, incorporating interactive elements to create a platform showcasing their work and helping to exchange ideas. The result: an elegant and professional layout that beautifully reflects Orcom’s values and essence.

We contributed by writing a series of texts for the book, including interviews with executives who trusted Orcom to support their company’s growth, articles analysing the impact of major societal trends on the communication industry, and branding texts describing the company’s vision and values.

This project took us beyond the lifestyle industries we are accustomed to, broadening our horizons. Thank you to the Pixelis team for your trust!

Celimar

Celimar is the elegant and evocative name given to the upcoming beach-side apartments and penthouses in the Azuri village.

These new high-end residences are an open invitation to experience a touch of the “Dolce Vita”, embodying Azuri’s laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere, which we captured in words in the project’s promotional brochure.

From a range of activities to suit every taste to its tight knit community, every page portrays the elements that create the unique sense of peace and wellbeing that permeates this tropical home away from home… it’s almost as if you were there.

Lartisien

The Lartisien brand is the byword for exceptional luxury hotel experiences across the world.

In Other Words creates travel themed articles in the form of a travel itinerary for the brand. From Istanbul to Los Angeles, and Rome and Montenegro… We carefully research every destination to highlight the features that stand out the most, including restaurants, monuments, history, and the “je ne sais quoi” that creates its atmosphere… basically everything that makes the destination unique.

Travel with us to these incredible destinations… or view our portfolio to discover even more collaborations.

Azuri Destination Guide

Sometimes, thinking outside the box is the only way to go.

It’s with this mindset that we collaborated with BlueLife to create a brochure with a unique format for Azuri. The brochure captures the essence of the destination by presenting life in the Azuri village as a tourist “destination guide.” Within its pages, you’ll find unique encounters, slices of life, ideas for walks and activities, and some hidden gems.

To bring this project to life, Azuri gave us complete creative freedom. From the editorial strategy to topic selection, their trust and insights were instrumental in allowing us to bring a truly creative angle to this project.

Aparté #2

Get your copy! Get your copy! Aparté is back!

Aparté’s concept is simple and yet oh so tantalising: it’s an invitation to press pause on the busy pace of life and take a break. Simple as that. So go ahead and stow your running shoes in the closet, turn your to-do into a “do later” (or do never!) and escape through the pages of the magazine here

There’s a special twist to this edition. Using the Artivive app, readers can scan the magazine cover (in its digital or print version) and be whisked away into a world of imagination and wonder. Sweet dreams of adventure, a deep dive into a world filled with colours, or an escape to the past or to a beautiful place in the present. Whether it’s the imaginary or reality that speaks to you… you’ll find it within this edition of Aparté.

  1. Download Artivive with one click on Google Play or the Apple Store.
  2. Scan the cover of Aparté.
  3. Escape!

The inspiration behind this colourful cover, imagined by the artist Anthesis, is one of the themes discussed in the magazine in an article that will take you four centuries back in time to discover Mauritius when it was still an (almost!) deserted island.

As for the rest, we won’t say more. Open Aparté to explore its fascinating topics.

Happy reading!

Origin Eco Chalet

We love Rodrigues, eco-friendly businesses and telling a good story. So, when tasked with writing the website content of the Origin Eco-Lodge, our excitement soared!

To kick off the project, we sat down with co-founder Eloïse Harel and listened to her story. Because Origin is not just a hotel; it’s a personal journey and a dream come true for her and her husband Samuel.

On top of describing the lodge and its amenities, we wanted to showcase the owners’ environmental commitments and list the best activities in Rodrigues. We hope we succeeded in conveying the spirit of this very unique place!
